Bogged down in details

The new job continues to go well. I wish I could say the same for the wedding plans. My parents are paying for the wedding which unfortunately means they are dictating the terms. They have limited my fiance and I to a total of 50 people between us which means many people that we wanted to include we will not be able to. Many are asking us why we don't tell my folks to stuff it and pay our own way? The simple answer: family harmony...Choosing "the nuclear option" would have too much fallout and too many hurt feelings.
