New job

I am now on my 3rd day and everyone here at the school I am working for is outstanding. The people have been incredibly helpful and answered ny many dumb questions. A lot has been happening, notably that I have recently reconnected with the mother of a long time friend of mine who I was led to believe did not like me. It turns out she was glad I called as this friend of mine is struggling right now with a number of things and living a very unhealthy life. It gives me pause to realize how far I have come in 5 years since I was battling similar demons and trying to rebuild my life. I am grateful to all of those who stood by me and especially my parents whom I made miserable. This does not excuse the way they are behaving regarding wedding plans, but I understand why they made certain decisions.

New destination

I got out and am headed to one of Rhode Island's major universities for significantly more $ and a great deal more respect. My call center days are over and I have graduated from cubeville as I will have an office. I start my new job on Monday and the look on my boss' face when I gave my notice two weeks ago was priceless as I am sure he is the last person who ever thought I would quit, but opportunity knocked and I answered the door! I am very excited and plan to work very hard as this job represents everything I have worked toward and then some. I will be helping students and families pay the bill for this school and it will be very gratifying. Now, all I have to do is survive the process of planning my wedding but more on that in future posts.
